SAUDI TAKEOVER REVIEW
Premier League will not review Saudi Newcastle deal despite Bin Salman involvement claims
The Premier League will not review the legality of Newcastle Unitedās takeover by Saudi Arabiaās sovereign wealth fund despite reports of crown prince Mohammed bin Salmanās involvement in the deal. Other sources suggest MPs will reexamine the takeover but this is highly unlikely.
This comes after leaked WhatsApp messages, seen by The Telegraph, suggested that the buyout hinged on the approval of Bin Salman (previous write-up here). Itās understood that the League remains convinced there is, and has always been, a clear separation between the Saudi state and those in charge of Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Premier League clubs will meet today to discuss the outcome of Manchester Cityās associated-party transaction (APT) ruling. A full breakdown of the case can be found here. Clubs will debate where shareholder loans sit within the APT rules after the arbitration panel ruled its current application was unlawful.

MESSI CHERRY-PICKED BY FIFA
Fifa shoehorn Lionel Messi into Club World Cup, deliberately keeping qualification criteria vague
Inter Miami, the team that Lionel Messi plays for, have qualified for next summerās expanded Club World Cup. Instead of handing the place to the winner of the MLS Cup ā which will conclude on December 7 ā Fifa has opted to award the spot to the winner of the Supportersā Shield. While some argue that the Supportersā Shield is a better measure of a teamās consistent quality, the MLS Cup is still viewed as the most prestigious award.
Miami have been given a relatively easy pathway to qualification. Theyāve become the 31st club to reach the Club World Cup and the only side to qualify via a domestic league. Every other team has qualified through continent-wide competitions.
The world governing body is desperate to attract a big broadcast deal and some major American sponsors for the tournament, and Messiās presence would go a long way in achieving that. Critics of the Club World Cup believe that Fifa were deliberately vague about the criteria for MLS qualification for the tournament as a way of ensuring that Messi and Miami would feature.

Answer
Derby County. Their 32-game winless run in the 2007-08 season was the worst seen in the Premier League. Their 11 points and one victory remain the smallest totals ever in the English top flight, and their 29 losses is also a competition record.
None of my players had the experience, the vision, the wisdom to stop the game. The game changed there.
