Football Index: lots of butsā¦
A couple of weeks ago, we mentioned the Football Index appā¦
ā¦ you know, the one that took Ā£124 million of customersā money, but never paid it back. Hereās a quick recapā¦
Football Index sold āsharesā in football players based on real-life performance (remember, the R1 barber āinvestedā Ā£300 in Raheem Sterlingā¦).
But, turns out, it was just a pyramid scheme and the business model changed so many times that fans were confused and short-changed.
The company liquidated but didnāt honour its customerās open bets.
As fans look for justice, there are new developments to share on the storyā¦
The Times revealed that Football Indexās founder Adam Cole is - subtly - behind a new football crypto trading websiteā¦ KiX.
Hereās where it gets interestingā¦
KiX founder Abdullah Suleyman is the face of the appā¦ but Cole conveniently isnāt mentioned anywhere.
And - credit to Joey DāUrso for this excellent journalism - The Times got access to KiXās investor pitch deck which lauds Football Index as a āproof of conceptā... without mentioning its spectacular failure.
KiXās pitch deck via The Times
DāUrso also obtained access to KiXās internal documents which showed āAdam Coleā as an author of a PDF document. Hmm fishy.
KiX says that Cole has no āexecutive inputā - which may be true - but they did confirm that Cole was an āinvestor/adviserā.
Crypto plus Adam Coleā¦ hmm weāre not so sure. Weāll give it a pass.
Chelsea 6 - 0 Everton
Cole Palmer 13ā, 18ā, 29ā, 64ā (P), Nicolas Jackson 44ā, Alfie Gilchrist 90ā
In case you missed the game, yup, Palmer got four goals. That means Palmerā¦
ā¦ is joint-first with Haaland for the Golden Boot - 20 goals.
ā¦ the first Chelsea player to score in seven successive league appearances.
ā¦ scored as many Prem hat-tricks as Hazard, Scholes, Gerrard, ManĆ©, Mahrez, Bale and SĆ”nchez managed in their entire Prem careers.
What. A. Season.
Chelseaās performance was flawless, despite the embarrassing argument over a penaltyā¦ cāmon guys.

Champions League Stat Zone
Borussia Dortmund (1) vs (2) AtlƩtico Madrid (Tonight, 20:00 BST, TNT Sports)
ā Dortmund have lost three of their last five against AtlĆ©tico, but the German side were 4-0 winners the last time they hosted Diego Simeoneās men in the 2018/19 group stage.
ā AtlĆ©tico have won just two of 10 away meetings against German sides in major European competitions. Dortmund, by contrast, have lost just two of their 13 Champions League home games against Spanish opposition.
Barcelona (3) vs (2) PSG (Tonight, 20:00 BST, TNT Sports)
ā Christensenās first-leg winner was the 50th goal scored in 14 competitive meetings between these sides. Thatās an average of 3.6 goals per game.
ā Although Barcelona have only lost two of their nine games against PSG in the Champions League knockout stages, their most recent home knockout game loss came against PSG in a 4-1 thrashing in 2021.
Debunked
KakĆ”ās too perfect for his ex-wife?
Earlier this week, a quote from KakĆ”ās ex-wife, Caroline Celico, floated around the internetā¦
On the coupleās divorce, she apparently said: āKakĆ” never betrayed me, he treated me well, he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy, something was missing. The problem was, he was too perfect for me.ā
Hmmā¦ just too perfect, eh? We get itā¦
ā¦ handsome.
ā¦ 6ft something Brazilian footballer.
ā¦ wealthy.
ā¦ 2007 Ballon dāOr winner and 2002 World Cup winner.
Sounds pretty perfect to us.
But they divorced because he was too perfect? Surely not. It sounds a little - hm - unbelievableā¦
ā¦ and thatās because it is.
Celico took to Instagram to let everyone know that the quote was not only fake but also inaccurate.
Morale of the story: if youāre a dashing, rich, loyal, athletic, Ballon d'Or winner, youāre still not perfectā¦

Answer: Celtic (1966-67)
āI was watching the Blackburn game on TV on Sunday when it flashed on the screen that George Ndah had scored in the first minute at Birmingham. My first reaction was to ring him up. Then I remembered he was out there playing.ā
